Mail To Thailand

Featured Replies

My wife has lost several letters and cards that she has mailed to Thailand.

Now she writes in Thai (in big black letters) "no money inside" So far all her letters have made to her sister.

simple but seems to work so far.

You obviously ask someone to do it for you then!

AjarnM, did you Photoshop that kitty? 555 It's fab.

I got the kitty from some other place on the internet. I liked it so I put it as my avatar. Anyway, thanks for your comments. :D

As for the letters and parcels, I just remembered that once I sent one letter without registered AD and that never reached it destination. I learnt my lesson and never sent any other thing without registered AD. :D

:o but not as fab as my one:-

I've just been dealing with the Thai postal system also. I posted a package of photographs and a birthday card back on 3 April. I paid extra to have the delivery signed for by the recipient. Package left the UK on 4 April, landed in Bangkok on 5 April. Turns out that the recipient doesn't sign for it, the Bangkok office did. The UK couldn't tell me if it had arrived or not. It was presumed lost. I got an e-mail from my friend's boss's wife yesterday (he doesn't have a phone) telling me that it had finally arrived! The parcel was labeled "Photographs enclosed". I'm so relieved that he has finally got it ... it took a lot of time and effort, and these photos would be of no benefit to a thief! So, ended up taking over a month instead of 7 working days. It ends well though.

yeah i've had items stolen when sent from the uk ...

they stole our baby name book...i was disgusted by the theft :o

it does seem that books/mags go misssing...books are more expensive in los

kinda off topic...

i need to send documents to thailand that will actually arrive intact..confidential papers etc

i don't want to touch the uk/thai postal service...the uk charges are extortionate especially when they just point their finger at thailand and say there's nothing they can do...

what costs do fedex/dhl etc etc charge for forwarding papers(not heavy/bulky)?

uk-thailand?

i've never used fedex etc before

thanks in advance
