A bakery in Thailand has launched doughnuts covered in edible 24-karat gold flakes.

The snack is filled with cream made from Madagascar vanilla beans and luxury champagne. Each donut is priced at about US$130, which comes in a gift box with knife and fork.

People eat doughnuts with a knife and fork?

How terribly effete.

It's been a momentous week....yesterday we found out that Elite Visa Brits spend 3000 baht daily and now we know what they are spending it on...ha ha ha ha

There's a gourmet burger restaurant in Egypt that it will serve up a burger complete with edible gold leaf for a cool 1,188 THB. If you're a bit strapped for cash you can have the cheaper one with silver for 940 THB.

I never indulged in these particular delights, but I have to say their burgers were the best I've ever had in my life.

Well, in that case, I guess we would have to take a loan as 130 US$ is way above our 3,000 Baht daily spending. (allowance? )

I'm sure Thai Elite would arrange a discount voucher for the balance for only 1900 baht
