Preserving Split Big Bamboo Walls

Hi there

I recently built a sala with split bamboo walls, about 4 or 5 inches across. The "inside" is on the inside, the shiny side outside. I live in a forest garden and the air is damp, and at the same time the rain will sometimes blow onto the bamboo's shiny outside.

Dark mould and staining has started on some pieces and I think it's only a matter of time before it's everywhere. I more or less expected it , but haven't got round to doing something about it. I would rather not varnish if possible.

Any clues please?

I don't know if it will damage the bamboo, but ordinary household beach is good for killing mould.

I have used it on plaster and concrete walls. It not only kills the mould, it also discouraged further growth.
