I have a 1 year Non Immigrant (Cat O) M visa......need to change my passport (from Australian to Irish). Does anyone know if it possible to transfer the visa, or will I need to reapply for a new visa in the new passport?

To make it a little more complicated........I was granted the visa using my then wife's passport etc, however we have since divorced and I have a new Thai wife. Would I need to start over again using my new wife's details outside of Thailand.........I was thinking of Cambodia or would it be possible to get another 1 year visa without leaving the country. I am due to do my visa run shortly.

Any help or suggestions would be gratefully recieved and appreciated.

1. Visas are not normally transferred and surly not to a different countries passport.

2. You will need a new visa in the new passport.

3. You are not likely to receive a warm welcome in Cambodia and in no case would they issue you a one year visa.

4. KL is the only local Consulate that might issue with marriage certificate and copy of wife ID card but it is hit and miss - alternative would be a single entry.

5. Singapore has been providing one year visas but in addition to the marriage certificate they require proof of 400k or more in bank deposits.

Thanks for that ....I half expected the new visa new passport, just wanted to know for sure.

As to the 400k thats not a problem, so it looks like its off to Singapore!

Thanks for the advice.
