What Kind Of Snake Is This?

A checkered Keelback for sure. We have one in our garden and my young visitor from England, who is a Vet, confirmed the name. Apparently they have a poison, but can’t really bite you because their poisons teeth are at the back of the jaw.

Can anybody identify this snake?

It was in our fish pond that we drained the other day. (Don Muang, Bangkok)

Hi

Looks like a common rat snake to me, if so harmless and a welcome visitor if you have vermin!! :o

TBWG :D
