Massage (lacrosse) balls

These are almost like a more accurate version of the foam roller, and great for unstiffening in areas where the foam roller can't reach easily.

 

I specifically use it to loosen up my around my glute / hip

 

My question is, in terms of stretching, is it best to do so after using it, before using it, or both? I guess the same question can apply with a foam roller....

The usual recommendation is to foam roll and then stretch. Intuitively it makes some sense as you get blood flowing to the area first. I don't know that it makes a lot of difference. I'll try to remember to foam roll first, but I enjoy stretching more and do it more often, so I'll sometimes stretch first.
