A BIG Tot-problem in Pattaya.

I visited to TOT-office 18.4.07 and bought a adsl-line.

Very good, they promised me to get a adsl-line in 2 weeks.

Good and friendly service at that time!

After 2 weeks I went to Pattaya TOT- office because not a

signal for my modem, but clerk said that the line is on, so I

went back home, checked the line with 3 different modems,

but no adsl-line!!!

.......so again(!), went back to TOT-office.

they Told that there's no adsl-signal.

So Clerk told me that I should have bought a

TOT - modem, ( this wasn't told earlier ).

I bought a wireless modem from tukcom southpattaya and

it was cheaper than TOT's wireless modem.

Mechanic , name 'CHAROEN' visited

to my home 2 or 3times, spent time

in there for 10-15 minutes each time, but no

adsl at all, just a phoneline,

(I don't have own home telephone but mechanic told that the line is ok).

I really didn't want to buy a phoneline,

wanted just a adsl-line for my computer!!!

The same mechanic, told that the line is ok and

I can use the internet.

And he said that if want, i have to pay him 350 baht

and he will get the phoneline cabel into my home.

He left the cabel outside, so i had to do the rest by myself, connect the cabel.

Not nice at all.good servicefrom TOT!!

But result was the same, no adsl-line!

So, 7th May, when i had to go to Finland, visited the TOT office, and said to MANAGER,( Don't Know her name, )

** i want my money back because since 18th April has been more than 2 weeks,**

SHE said that **we cannot pay back because we don't have any cash and we don't pay anything in cash.**

i asked **why**

I did not get really good reason, they just wanted me to pay +4000 baht , including connection, and monthly 700 baht

(speed 512 kbits).

So, i was really angry, told them that if they are not going to pay me back, i will go to policestation and

ask what can i do.

The other officer , older woman, wearing eyeglasses,

in that same office, said ''so you have to go there''

i Went to Pattaya tourist police and they said that

**Office has to pay me the money back, but go to TOT-Office and talk again with the MANAGER and if you are not understood,

police will talk with the MANAGER.**

So I Went back to Office and said to MANAGER

''call this police''

so she said :

**i am not going to Call anyone, **,

and showed really bad face.

Ok, i called by my own phone, gave the phone to that MANAGER and she changed her mind, she said

** yes , we will pay your money back**

Strange TOT - policy isn't it?

** GOOD ! I want my +4000 baht today and i will leave this company forever**

They said (manager and someone other officer)

** cannot pay today, because they don't have any cash,

But cashier got all the time money in that office, so i said

** you have cash in there**

but they said

**we cannot do in that way and

because it is holiday 7th May**

While this, I got a phonecall from my own number (from my house) ,

mechanic (WHO ever) told me that the adsl - line is ok,

he's checking the line at my home, and it works.

So, because MANAGER, and other not-friendly clerks and me

didn't understand eacother I went back home. Again.

and result was the same as earlier.

---------

I am very dissappointed about TOT-company in Pattaya.

And when I went to airport, I checked the phoneline, it was closed,

so something happens quickly in that company!

Good service, yes.

And in the end, I speak Thai fluently, so these conversations have

been in Thailanguage, so no missunderstood on both sides.

I have spent time and money a way too much for this and got nothing.

I have called too many times to 'service numbers but without any help'', so

what are things numbers and people for?

And the clerks who work at the TOT-office Pattaya,

I think they should learn to be more polite.

Is this really TOT-policy, have to pay but no service??

this mail was sent to TOT , 16.th MAY.

Dealing with government employees is pretty much the same the world over :o

And TOT is wholly owned by the government!
