Network Error

Featured Replies

Sometimes when trying to acces websites, be it yahoo, google, ebay, etc. I'm getting this message. What is this and why? Anyone knows?

Network Error

A communication error occurred: "Connection refused"

The Web Server may be down, too busy, or experiencing other problems preventing it from responding to requests. You may wish to try again at a later time.

For assistance, contact your network support team.

Yeah, I have been getting this a lot over the last weeks.

It means the connection has timed out - the browser tries to access a website for a while, then gives up. The message means it's given up.

In firefox, you can set the http timeout by typing about:config in the address bar. Increase to 500 or so which is better for Thailand.

However, the problems in the last few weeks are not normal for Thailand and I don't think any settings can fix that. There's something seriously wrong with network access recently, it's at the ISP or higher level and you can't really do much about it. I tend to hit reload when I get this message which tends to then work. Annoying but... TIT!

Connection refused means the request reached to destination server so it's not a timeout. Normally it's from a busy server that's just overloaded.

"network error" is most of the times caused by islamist extremists. until now no solution could be found.

:o

This error is not coming from the web site you are trying to access. It is not coming from your web browser either. Those things are perfectly fine. This error is generated by low quality ISP software from True internet configured by people who will never have a clue what six sigma quality means, and if they did would care less about it. I tried to assist them in fixing this but they are hopeless and I gave up. There are several error messages like that you will recognize by their similar layout and fonts. Instead of fixing the source of the problems they just crap these messages on your screen and do nothing. It would be great to have a hit counter on these error screens so we can see how many million inconveniences and confusions they generate to their customers. Bypassing their low quality DNS is one thing that makes a big difference in browsing quality. When their servce gets especially shoddy I switch over to VPN which works like a charm every time, but they cap the speed probably for some dumb reason.

never needed the unmentionable until they started trying to clean up after the youtube fiasco ................... :o
