Tycoon’s daughter and son-in-law arrested in unravelling drama

Featured Replies

In the latest turn of events, tycoon Heng Sear’s daughter and son-in-law were arrested on Saturday in Phnom Penh having allegedly hired photographers to ruin the reputation of MyTV presenter Mean Pich Rita, who is embattled in court cases with Sear. Colonel San Sokseyha, Phnom Penh police spokesman, identified the two suspects as Khorn Chhundara, 32, and his wife Taing Kimheang, 30, the son-in-law and daughter of Sear, and owners of the coffee shops KOI and Tube Café in Meanchey district’s Stung Meanchey commune.

Col Sokseyha said yesterday that they were arrested after an investigation began by the Anti-Cybercrimes Department. Chhundara and Kimheang allegedly hired a man and woman to create photographs appearing as a sex scandal between Pich Rita and their father which were then posted on social media.

“So far, we have not been able to provide information on how this happened, as our police experts have not yet finished questioning them,” Col Sokseyha said. He added that police: “are continuing to search for and arrest the other suspects to bring them to justice.” Chhundara and Kimheang will be sent to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court for questioning by the prosecutor to decide if charges will be made.
