Picture Daily News

A clearly exasperated governor of Samut Sakhon went on Facebook live to complain about the small number of vaccine doses given to his province.

Samut Sakhon was the center of the second wave of infections and remains an area with many cases.

Yet Weerasak Wijitsaengsri said that he had received only 70,000 doses of vaccine when they were promised 300,000.

He used a Thai proverb to slam the authorities that roughly equates to "what's the point in wasting my breath" by giving a full explanation, reported Daily News

He said that there were three main reasons his province deserved better and deserved more vaccine.

1. There were still lots of infections there and the people were pinning their hopes on the vaccine

2. The field hospitals there were not just for Thais residents but everybody (this probably a reference to migrant workers, notes Thaivisa)

and

3. His province is in an area with a large number of factories that contribute hundreds of billions of baht to the Thai economy.

you are not a high priority - neither are over 60's or the vulnerable or front line at risk staff

The high priority is the tourist sector and money - nothing else matters including the welfare and health of the people

Money money money

His reasoning is as powerful as an action figures on his table

"Its all a misunderstanding" ......."Its all under control"......"It wasnt me, I'm just the Health Minister"..........????????

This poor man seems totally exhausted from the photo.

And is it any wonder.

He has not only to battle Covid that has been within his Province now, for some time, with no end in sight, but also has to Battle Government for any meaningful assistance

This is a guy who spent 82 (?) days in ICU, 42 of them on a ventilator. If you want to eat seafood, give Samut Sakhon the jabs.

Golf course, connected businesses, connected companies, connected corporations...... TIT.  Money talks. Commoners take a back-seat.

Well that's his career in the toilet as of today...

They can promise the world, they simply don’t have the vaccines to give.

After losing face from the criticism the G7 finally broke and decided to pony up for a billion doses, nice gesture but clearly not enough. Big pharma (true to its form) will never give up intellectual property rights so the world is at the mercy of the 'haves vs the have nots'. Though maybe wealthy in the financial sense they are destitute in foresight, for if this isn't tackled on a global scale, and very soon, we will be under this virus's effects for the next decade. Your country may vaccinate every citizen plus their dogs and cats but until the world can say that, it doesn't mean ****

Thats the way it goes sunshine and you know better than we farang, I feel sorry for you

Hopefully more people Will speak out!

Just a misunderstanding.  Samut Sakon sounds a lot like Buriram.

Surely there has been some mistake.

Anutin said there were plenty of vaccines for everyone. And we all know that Anutin is a man of great honour, intelligence and integrity.
