Gordon Dutch
Hi All We are a family of 4 (all are US citizens) in the US planning to relocate to Thailand in December. We plan to apply for visas here at the Thai Embassy / Consulate in the US very soon for: Non Immigrant ED - Education at School (This would be for our 2 young children who will go to an International School) Non Immigrant O - Guardian of Children (This would be for us as parents) a) Should we apply for a single entry visa or a multi entry 1 year visa ? b) Any other advice you would have before we start to go through this process ? Thanks Gordon Dutch
ubonjoe
Your children will need to be enrolled in a school before applying online for their single entry non-ed visas. Then after arriving they would apply for one year extensions of stay at immigration. You both would then apply for single entry non-o visas (the embassy or one of the official consulates will not issue a multiple entry visa). After arriving each of you would apply for a one year extension of stay based upon being the parent of your child attending a school. Each of you would need 500k baht in a Thai bank for 30 days to apply for the first extensions. Info is here on the embassy website. https://thaiembdc.org/2020/07/11/visa_coe_education/
