Flood warning for central provinces until Sunday, flooding in 32 provinces

Flooding still persists in 16 provinces while heavy rainfall and more flood are expected throughout the country over the coming days, Thai authorities said on Thursday.

 

The Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) said the flooding, mostly in the central region, had spread to 32 provinces and 7,628 villages with 299,704 affected households since tropical storm Tien Mou passed through Thailand on September 23.

 

Nine people have died including six in Lopburi, two in Phetchabun and one in Chai Nat.

This may not be a record flood year, but it is still very terrible for lots of people who live

in the flood areas, and with Thailand being such a flat country generally, there is a lot of flood

areas.
