asiasurfer
Hi. Can someone give me the information of when a PR becomes invalid? I understand a PR can be revoked if one commits a crime or if you leave the country without a Re-entry Permit. Apparently, it also becomes invalid if you stay outside Thailand for more than one year. Does this mean, I needed to return to Thailand for a couple of days/weeks per year, so my PR won't expire? This is just in case, I decided to work back in my home country, but at the same time wanna keep my Thai PR. Or anything else I should know...? Many thanks guys... Etaoin Shrdlu
When you exit Thailand with a re-entry permit in your passport and an endorsement in your residence certificate, you need to return within the one-year validity of the permit and endorsement, otherwise PR lapses. There is no minimum stay upon returning in order to retain PR. You could fly in, , go straight to immigration and obtain new stamps, and go right back out for another year.
