Hi,

I'm going to apply next week for a 60 day tourist visa via the online e-visa portal for the RTE in London. I've never done this before and want to be sure that I have all the documents ready before I submit my application. Is this everything I need?

- jpg image of the biodata page of my passport.

- A passport photo taken within the last 6 months, as a jpg. file

- A completed declaration, which I understand I can download from the site once I have started my application.

- copy of flight confirmation, as a jpg file. Does this have to be a return flight?

The RTE London website says that the applicant must provide evidence of adequate finance of at least B20,000. Do I have to upload a copy of this as well, or is this only required at check in at the airport?

Also, can I apply for Thailand Pass at the same time as applying for this visa, or do I have to wait for the visa to be approved first?

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,  Forgot about the flight.  I have a return booking so I submitted the Qatar Airways confirmation.

I would expect, if you put yourself RTE shoes, that they would look for confirmation of a booked flight out of the country within the Visa period.  I may contemplate extending for 30 days when in Country so I have booked with Qatar as they state they allow free date changes on current bookings ( not sure if this would apply when the outbound flight has been taken on time but will cross that bridge if it comes to it).

Cheers

Possibly easier to get 30 days (at airport) on arrival and 60 extension when you are in situ ..

It's unreal ... It was so easy 3/4 years back ..drop off your passport at Kensington pick up next day ...

Got to be a serious drop off of UK guys considering Tahi as a holiday or retirement destination.

I think people in the UK are already accustomed to using the e visa site since the embassy in London has been using it since June of 2019.

And now there is now no need to go to London to get the visa sticker since they started issuing stickerless visas sent by email.

I considered applying for a 60 day tourist visa early October, but with all the documents required, i decided to just enter visa exempt & extend that for another 30 days in country.

I submitted my application today and the only things I would add to Millerman's great summary is that they also ask for:

1. A declaration to be printed off and signed, which I did and saved as a pdf. The declaration just says that all of the information submitted is correct, plus some other legal stuff.

2. They ask you to upload copies of your passpost showing travel in the last 12 months. I haven't been outside the UK so I printed and signed a letter stating that I had spent the last 12 months in the UK and had not visited any other countries. I saved this as a pdf.

My flight is in the 8th January 2022, so fingers crossed I get the e-visa in time!

Hi,

Great post Millerman.

My 60 day SETV evisa from London came through within two days, that was a week ago.

The proof of B20,000 was via a screenshot of my bank info page.

Proof of flights was a screenshot of the KLM flight booking email.

Return flight was for 88 days after entry, as i always do the 60+30 day extension, this was not questioned.

Insurance was for the whole trip, i could have just got the 60 days to cover the SETV but for the sake of £45 extra i am covered for accidents etc for the whole trip.

The declaration was digitally signed (adobe) and uploaded.

The travel history was my passport uploaded again with red text added stating

"N/A-No international travel to declare"

I hope your application goes smoothly malc999uk

Cheers WHansen.

Yes it seems to have gone smoothly, I submitted my application on Wednesday 1st Dec around 12.30pm, and woke up today (Friday 3rd) to find the e-visa in my inbox which was a welcome surprise. Next up it's the Thailand Pass.
