Just a rhetorical question

Probably saves them a lot of time and effort, responding to emails enquiries, orders from countries they don't ship to etc.

Possibly a security measure, you cant get hacked from the other side of the world if its blocked

Blocking of this kind is very common and reasonable.

If not blocked completely you might see a captcha (the "I am not a robot" check).

Try this with a non Thai IP:

https://www.thaismileair.com/en/

Read from a mate that he gets to do a captcha.

Vice versa much more common: many websites protect against Thai IP adresses.

(Thailand is considered "dangerous"/malware/bot pestered)

If I open one of my webmail sites from Germany I always have to do the captcha.

Try this with a Thai IP:

https://www.homedepot.com/

Home Depot USA, was a topic here long ago (Access Denied).

Could bet that it opened earlier today??

Just using a UK VPN and at least Advice site gives a proper error description

(in contrast to the Home Depot example)

Thais think their phone number is an awesome password, where they even bother with a password.

Got a big grin when I entered my WiFi password to the mobile of a Thai family member.

8 characters?! So long? 5555
