ASEAN NOW Posted December 15, 2021 Share Posted December 15, 2021 Six persons have been detained in the Netherlands for attempting to transport ecstasy tablets to Laos and Vietnam. Five persons were detained in Almere, Assen, and Loosdrecht on suspicion of attempting to transport 47,000 ecstasy tablets to Vietnam by ordinary mail, according to DutchNews.nl. When a parcel was posted in Assen, in the northern Netherlands, police were alerted to the narcotics. More ecstasy tablets and ketamine were discovered in the houses of three women and two males who were detained. The five are currently being held in police custody. Meanwhile, a sixth suspect was arrested in Zaandam on accusations of attempting to deliver 14.2 kg of ecstasy tablets to Laos. Despite the large amount of narcotics involved, authorities did not reveal who the beneficiaries in Laos would be or where the illicit substances would be delivered.
