Police and rescue services in the Ao Nang area of Krabi were called after a two year old girl called Jasmine tragically drowned.

When rescue arrived the little girl was being cradled by her mum, 29 year old Suwannee, as a crowd of 100 had gathered.

Despite efforts to revive the infant she was already dead.

Her father Somchai, 30, said he had been on a fishing trip and was resting at home when his four year old daughter rushed in to say that Jasmine had fallen in the klong at a bridge.

He dashed to the scene but Jasmine had been washed away. She was found 200 meters downstream.

Police were told that the four year old and two year old had walked out of their house to go and find their mum who was doing something nearby.

77kaoded published a picture of the bridge whose handrail would have provided scant protection for a small child in the result of a slip.

Absolutely no way should two Children be left unsupervised near water .

An adult should be there continually looking at them and not taking their eyes off them .

Never let a child leave your view , not even for a few minutes .

That's what parents are for

A tradegy that could have easily  been avoided.

Somchai asleep, mother working... kids playing alone, what could possibly go wrong.

Sounds like we should feel sorry for the parents in this piece of news. According to me they should be charged with murder, for letting a 4 year old take the responsibility for a 2 year old. Only if they do that, the lunacy of letting everything be can stop.

Cowboy was heaving over the weekend! There must be a large number of brown envelopes in circulation.

I had the same experience this week.   My SCB account is linked to such as Amazon, PayPal, Lazada etc, and I ran into problems a few days ago.   Looked at the App, and sure enough, new on/off choice for international/domestic payments.   Works fine now.

I have finally found the perfect excuse not to lend money. "Sorry, I'm a demented maniac, and I may have to kill you if you don't pay back on time. It's just too risky.". Much better than the usual cowardly answer "I don't have money with me".

In other words, asleep instead of keeping a watch on the kids.
