The Cambodian Permanent Mission to United Nations in Geneva has maintained that an absence of the court-dissolved Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) for the upcoming elections “does not detract Cambodia from pluralism”, saying the voters remain able to choose one among 17 registered political parties.

The statement was made by An Sokkhoeurn, Cambodian Ambassador and Permanent Representative to UN office in Geneva, at the 49th Session of the UN Human Rights Council on “General Debate on Item 2: High Commissioner’s Oral Update” yesterday.
