If you are a driver of the Toyota HILUX VIGO or the FORTUNER i would really appreciate it if you could give a one word answer to each of these questions below. it would be so much help!! THANK YOU!! 1) Which car do you drive? 2)What are your hobbies and interests? 3) What genre of music do you enjoy listening to? 4) What publications (newspaper/magazines) do you read regularly? 5) Your favorite hang out in Bangkok? 6) Do you play sports? 7) What is your occupation? (optional) Thanks Again!! Rachel
jumnien
My grandmother graduated from USC in 1924 so I feel obliged to respond. I drive a 2006 Fortuner. I like to fly small planes from rice fields in Thailand. I listen to Rock and Roll and Luk Thung. I read magazines for free in Asia Books and Bookazine in Bangkok when I visit. My favorite hangout in Bangkok is 12-step meetings. I play golf very poorly and enjoy bicycling and walking and swimming. I capitalize commercial real estate investments in the United States. I love living in Thailand. Good luck with your studies.

Loz
Hate to point out the obvious but.... This survey is for PEOPLE LIVING IN BANGKOK. So in answer to the last question, I guess it's about why do folk want a fricking big tractor in a crowded city. But, I have been wrong before... chinthee
One of my cars is a Hilux Vigo, and I do live in Bangkok, and I WILL take the time to answer the questions, but I would first like to know more why the OP (a USC student) would be asking about Fortuner for a USA university study, as this model is not even sold in the US! Plus
Also why would she ask farangs in Thailand, not the Thais? Also why would she compare Vigo with Fortuner? If she talks about different demographics (Fortuners cost nearly twice as much and Vigo is an entry level vehicle) then why limit only to Toyotas? Does she want to compare SUV drivers with pickup drivers? Why limit only to Toyotas again? It just doesn't make sense.
Hans Lankari
1) Which car do you drive?2)What are your hobbies and interests? 3) What genre of music do you enjoy listening to? 4) What publications (newspaper/magazines) do you read regularly? 5) Your favorite hang out in Bangkok? 6) Do you play sports? 7) What is your occupation? (optional) 1) Vigo 4WD. 2) Reading, sports, studying, work and beautiful girls. (In the reverse order maybe...) 3) Never listen to music. Do not have the time. I only HEAR music in some reare occasions. If I had the possibility to listen: Good music. Not in a specific category and I have on my MP3 e.g. rap, classic, Thai folk, opera, heavy, rock'n'roll, soft, disco, dance, etc. Music I like does not fall under one single, or even 2 - 3 categories. Good music can be any genre, any language. 4) News, informative literacy, science, law, history, biografies. Anything that is not a waste of time and gives me some information. 5) Airport when I come or leave. Never hang out in BKK if not absolutely necessary. Sometimes in the embassy or MoFA but only ofr work. My idea of having good time is not coping with a traffic of chaotic city. 6) Several. 7) Lawyer and business-man. After reading other responds I see that I am as irregular personality as are irregular the owners of these cars. There is no similarities what so ever. Maybe it is because in Thailand the choice of your car is not a selection of your personality but merely a selection of very limited possibilities. sibeymai
Judging from the lack of responses from Fortuner drivers one may assume: A- Vigos outnumber Fortuners about 10 to 1, or B- Most Fortuner drivers are illiterate, or C- The reason Fortuner drivers speed everywhere is because they don't have time to respond to threads such as this, or D- all of the above Edited June 19, 2007 by sibeymai

Rachelyw
Thanks everyone for the info youve put in! I am only interested in fortuner and vigo drivers since we were assigned to chose two models of cars from the same company, and since my parents drive those (and live in bkk) I decided to go with it! This is an informal summer project for my marketing club and is not class related or under direction of any professors. In the case of a formal study, gathering information through this forum wouldnt be suffice in terms of a control group, too many uncontrolled variables etc... Hope everyones having a great day =) Please keep them coming!
