The announcement of 60 days visa exempt isn't been enforced at Suvarnabhumi Airport just yet. Here is a Suvarnabhumi Airport entry stamp from today. 30 days, not 60 days! The announcement from Ministry of Foreign affairs (MFA) says June 1, 2024. TIT.

Thai logic - the new rules as quoted in the announcement states "Valid from-2024-06-01" which in Thai logic probably means from midnight on 1 June. 555. :coffee1:

UPDATE:

Our Thai staff just spoke to the press center at the Government Center.

They informed ASEAN NOW that "changes can take some time to enforce" and asked us to be patient. "Coming soon".

Nobody at MFA or Thai Immigration Bureau did respond or wanted to comment on this issue.

Has any one sighted this in the Gazette as of yet??

30 days, not 60 days given this morning at Ban Pakard checkpoint to a westerner who had expected 60 days.

Is it possible to find out what is required to be a digital nomad....do you have to provide some kind of proof as to a business or revenues or can you just say i am a digital nomad and apply for the digital nomad visa??

is extension of 30 days after the 60 days still possible?

Exactly as I predicted here when this was first announced. Score another for meTypically Thailand. :cheesy:

As always In Thailand you have to have a certain amount in your bank or be earning a certain amount I think. But the bottom line is cash is involved.  Always makes me laugh on here that people comment that 5,6, 7, etc. thousand pound (sterling) isn't a lot of money to have in your bank.  well it is to me.

The British Foreign office have updated their Thailand page saying visa free if now 60 days from 1st June.

So even the British government have no idea what Thailand is really doing.

Please keep the conversation focused on visa matters. Other subjects can be discussed elsewhere in the forum, but we like to keep the subject matter very focused here.

Thank you.

Typical Thainess of immigration.

Rules that change and are made on a regular basis from one office or division to another, all depending on the mood of "God" in uniform behind the glass counter.

They do indeed. Back in February, I entered on a SETV and the IO stamped me in for 30 days not 60. I ALWAYS check before leaving the desk, and politely told him he'd made a mistake.

He apologised, corrected it and stamped my passport again, telling me it was "OK on the system"

I had no problems leaving 58 days later.

"changes can take some time to enforce" and asked us to be patient.

In a press release, they officially announced that it would  take effect on June 1 this year.

And this is what they say now?

Yes.

Not immediate going by the wording on this.

The Thai government will get around to changing from 30 days to 60 days when they get around to it despite what has been announced.
