Thanakorn said the visit, Phankham’s first as prime minister of Laos, provides a major opportunity for the two nations to forge closer ties amid the post-pandemic economic recovery.

The two leaders are expected to discuss a strategic partnership for growth and sustainable development, trade and investment promotion, as well as the facilitation of cross-border travel and transportation.

The two premiers also expressed a desire to discuss regional connectivity and infrastructure development, specifically linking the China-Laos-Railway and the Thai rail network.
