PM observes dredging work at Ping River in Chiang Mai

Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont observes the progress of the dredging work at the Ping River in front of the Provincial Police Region 5’s headquarters in Chiang Mai Province.

The dredging of the Ping River was initiated by the Cabinet but the Nakhon (นคร) Chiang Mai Municipality is responsible for the expenses. The total cost of the dredging is estimated at more than one million baht. Infrastructure items, including water taps, have been removed from the area of the dredging. The narrowest part of the river, which is in front the police headquarters in Mueang (เมือง) District, is being dredged.

The premier will also travel to the San Kam Phaeng (สันกำแพง) Provincial Government Center to preside over an opening ceremony of a handicraft and Thai wisdom center which will provide personnel development training services for local entrepreneurs.
