Thailand and China began joint air force exercises yesterday for the first time since they were postponed due to Covid.


"Falcon Strike" is being held in Udon Thani, north east Thailand will involve training for "air support, strikes on ground targets, and troop deployments". The exercises will run until 25th August

 

Environmental groups have criticized government plans to introduce a climate change agency and a climate change act to oversee Thailand's progress in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

 

They say the steps were just glossy campaigns that favour big business, while largely ignoring the participation of civil society and local communities. 

 

Two sons helped retrieve the body of their father after he had fallen while walking in a forest over the weekend, his body was found early yesterday morning. They strapped the body to themselves and rode out of the woods on a motorcycle. He was then taken to hospital


The Centre of Alcohol Studies at Maha Sarakham University' says plans to allow pubs in some tourist areas to remain open until 4am will increase casualties from alcohol-related incidents, such as drink driving and assaults.

Meanwhile Tourism  operators on Koh Samui have  urged the government to press ahead with promoting  the island as a wellness destination and to proceed with plans to construct a bridge to the mainland...
