Critic and firebrand former politician and soapy massage boss Chuwit Kamolwisit went on his Facebook page to comment about what he saw as the dying embers of the Prayuth Chan-ocha rule, reported Siam Rath. 

 

Chuwit - never one to hide his light under a bushel - was waxing lyrical about his version of the so called "Four Noble Truths" of Buddhism related to suffering. 

 

ASEAN NOW notes that this came after the embattled Thai PM - now in power after 8 years of rule following a coup in 2014 - slammed reporters for not knowing about suffering in relation to bizarre comments about the cost of electricity.

 

Even a prominent abbot thought Prayuth the barking general was...er....barking - an English expression meaning mad.

 

Chuwit called the noble truths cleverness. boastfulness, fame and eventual ending in his reference laden comments.

 

He referred to monkeys and tigers who want to swagger and be the leader of the pack. Acknowledged Prayuth's cleverness in lasting so long. Referred to a universal idea to be recognised.

 

But ultimately it all came to an end. 

 

Whether that would be the case remained to be seen on Wednesday, he noted.

 

Meanwhile Siam Rath also reported a planned huge protest by government critic Jatuporn Phromphan planned for tomorrow, Tuesday 23rd August to try and get Prayuth out.

The Sharks are circling but it will not help against the big guns

Prayut took the office of Prime Minister by force (Coup) and has been there ever since in an acting and elected capacity and therefore IMO his 8 years is almost up and he should do the right thing and step down AND NOT become the next military dictator in Asia .

If he does another coup, then the APEC Economic Leaders Summit in Nov should be moved to another country to host.
Why allow a dictator to host this summit?  It has been said enough that Prayuth really wants to be the host of this years summit.

Everything always came to a glorious end whenever I visited one of his soapy "massage" parlors.

The 4 notable truths of Prayuth.

1. He has always been an incapable leader. He does not inspire men. He oppresses his people.

2. He does not have a clue how to run the economy. He has made a total mess of things. While many economies around the world are booming, Thailand is barely selling any new cars, barely selling any real estate, barely getting by. Millions are still out of work, due to the Prayuth Decimation. He is moving the nation backwards. 

3. He has destroyed tourism. It will likely never recover to a meaningful extent. So many mistakes have been made, so much timidity was shown, and so much sabotage has laid the industry to waste.

4. He is not liked by many. His popularity rating is likely under 5%. He would never be re-elected in a free and fair election. He is a dinosaur, lacking any creative juice, and selects only bottom of the barrel men for positions of leadership. 

 

 

I am not sure that it was prayuth's cleverness that explains his longevity, I would ascribe it to his being willing to use force to put down protests against him.

I still say that Prawit is and always has been the boss of Thailand , post Thaksin.

How about communist China Xi as a host - member since 1991.

Yet, they do put on quite a show, don't they?

Might even be better theatre than all of his dictatorial predecessors, all of which played the same role.

Doesn't really matter whether he leaves or not.

Nothing will get better because another loser takes his place.

Even an extremely talented leader would struggle af to solve the country's many pressing problems.

The courts are ran by Prayuth and his thugs.

 

I think they'll vote in his favor, right or wrong.

If he is replaced by another from the same stable then no, nothing much will change.

Major changes could happen, once it is realised just how ramshackle those stables are.

 

Several of the fundamentals are no longer that relevant to a younger more informed and educated (self educated) population.

And yet I remember  how many 'farang' supported him and his coup- they are quieter now but some 'farang' still can't see past the  royalist, militaryist, anti democracy anti Thaksin  propaganda and prefer the poison one.

Decent point, but not quite the same.  Xi / China is a communist country and been that way.

Thailand is supposed to be a "democratic" country and a coup goes against this.  Another coup in Thailand would cut off all funds the US gives Thailand for various initiatives, just as the Prayuth's last coup did.

 

ASEAN and APEC are battling 1 coup and 1 dictator in Myranmar now ...

That is no reason to leave a man without talent, leadership ability or concern for the people in power indefinitely. 

 

The people desperately need to wrestle control away from the army, one of the nation's most toxic institutions.

Remember the base reasoning for the existence of Thai militarism.
