Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert, announced Monday that he will step down as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases as well as President Biden’s chief medical advisor to President Joe Biden at the end of the year.

 

“It has been the honor of a lifetime to have led the NIAID, an extraordinary institution, for so many years and through so many scientific and public health challenges,” Fauci said in a statement. “I am very proud of our many accomplishments. I have worked with — and learned from — countless talented and dedicated people in my own laboratory, at NIAID, at NIH and beyond.

I think it was a great triumph for the good doctor to  keep the death toll to a bit over a million considering about 40% of the population and politicians there are covidiots.   The sane 60% should be commended

Not a good enough salesman Those parts of the country more likely to reject vaccinations also had a much higher death rate from covid

I remember not long ago when some folks were talking about "The Storm" that was going to be a day of reckoning for politicians and government bureaucrats undermining the USA.

How I look forward to a future when no one says silly things like

However, unlike the folks who say stuff like that, I know I will be disappointed. 

When he leaves office the message on his voicemail will say "If you have called to threaten the life of the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases please call [number of new director]."  Yeah, dark humor.

You think that fanatics who claimed all sorts of conspiratorial nonsense about covid and covid vaccines would have behaved differently had there been another person in Fauci's place? He was actually very mild mannered. And your comment about his looks kind of gives your game away.

I’m very disappointed that Faucci didn’t call out Trump in public for being an incompetent fool. 

The White House Covid task force leader now says 30%-40% of the Covid deaths can be attributed to the Presidents incomprehensible incompetence, concentrating on keeping his hotels open, dealing in crackpot conspiracy theories, giving out bad information on a daily basis. 
Trump even admitted he did the opposite of what the experts advised him.
