Stephen Cleary
Since my site already gets 9,000 – 10,000 direct hits a day, I am not exactly gonna pish my pants cause a moderator here has ‘removed a link to my site - which has happened on a variety of times before. In fact, TV has been posting (without any of my permission, absent of even a simple PM) a variety of my stuff both from Thai-blogs and The Nation. And adding to that, besides just intenionally deleting links, some of the blokes have even deleted my <deleted> name! Come on, let's get fair... Latest example:Don't panic .....Thai kids aren't that bad Edited June 23, 2007 by stevesuphan
jdinasia
You don't think that T.V. is abiding by the fair usage rule? and didn't the link to the paper give your link?
jdinasia
btw don't get me wrong ... I think your stuff is great .... but it seems like they are doing a good job with the rules on copyright posting
Jimjim
Are links to your site allowed? So you're Stephen Cleary? Edit to note I read more and it's obvious you are he. I agree with you about removing your name from things you wrote. No excuse for that. Edited June 23, 2007 by Jimjim
Jai Dee
Fair enough comment Stephen, and I'm sure no harm was intended. It is normal forum policy to delete drop-links to external blogs, but some mods may not be aware of your background and affiliation with The Nation. I'll bring up the subject in the mods forum so all will be aware. Credit where credit is due. Good article by the way...
cdnvic
A link back to the original article is needed, but an additional plug for the author is out of step with normal practise. Could be a slippery slope if these were allowed with every article posted.
Jai Dee
The issue is now being discussed by TV mods and admin. I'll close this now pending the outcome of that discussion. /Closed.
