Nation buys Bangkok Post’s Thai language business

In a turn of how things turn around, Nation Group (Thailand) Plc, the owners of The Nation news media outlet, has won the bidding to buy out ‘Post Today’ the vernacular Thai language media outlet of Bangkok Post.

 

Bangkok Post late yesterday announced that it has decided to sell ‘service marks and copyrights of Post Today and Newsclear Online’ to Nation Group, a company that was founded by a former disgruntled employee of Bangkok Post – Suthichai Yoon, in the 1971.

 

Sources have said that as many as 4-5 bidders has participated in the process to buy Post Today’s brand and its social media presence.
