NEW YORK (NNT) - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Don Pramudwinai has said all parties to the conflict in Ukraine can convene in Southeast Asia in November during three major international events to jointly resolve the crisis in Ukraine.

 

Minister Don said at the 77th UN General Assembly that the three venues – one in the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh for ASEAN summit, another on the Indonesian island of Bali for G20, and the third in Bangkok, Thailand, for APEC Leaders’ Meeting – could separately or in a series serve as an appropriate platform for talks on Ukraine.

 

On February 24, Russia began what it called a special military operation in Ukraine, saying it was responding to requests for assistance from the breakaway republics of Donetsk and Luhansk. In response, the West and its allies have rolled out a comprehensive sanctions campaign against Moscow.

Surely the time would be better spent sorting out their own internal conflicts.......

All parties would probably refuse and may favor a less corrupt country like North Korea ????

Unless I am mistaken, the guy proposed three venues. for a potential meeting but  never said that the situation can be resolved 

Look mate, Russia will never give up for two main reasons. 1. The loss of face of being unable to defeat Ukraine ,a much smaller and less equipped nation. and 2. The trillions of $ in cost of reparations would be too much for Russia and their nutty leader to accept.

That's right . But Putin is not Russia . Many Russians do not agree with him anymore . Best would be to permanently remove him .

The problem is that Russia has attacked - invaded and bombarded - Ukraine.

 

The "problem is resolved" by Russia leaving Ukraine and stopping the bombardment.

 

That can be achieved by either: Russian withdrawal, or it's defeat by Ukraine.

There's only one way this war will end, and that is when Russia leaves Ukraine entirely.

Ukraine WILL NEVER accept part of their sovereign country being annexed by Russia, or any other country.

If Russia doesn't leave, then be prepared for the next 100 years war  !

Putin WILL be deposed, by the people.

Kaderov will be deposed by Chechnya.

All the neighbouring states, Moldova, etc. will seek independance, and possible entry to the EU.

Ok so he said something, why do we need to know until there are signed agreements or actions

But it takes two to tango.  Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia will be Russian territories by this weekend, so Ukraine will not be engaging in tolks. 
When Ukraine continues the shelling and offensive in these oblasts, Russia will deem them attacks on Russian territory and the current 'special military operation' will become a counter-terrorism operation with the military response increasing in magnitude.
Yes - I know.....Russia in a beat dog with its tail between its legs an has run out of men and arms and is about to fold.  Let's revisit that come January 2023.  Personally I'd like to see this resolved at the negotiating table yesterday.  But...........
 

 

I have been convinced for some time that there is only one end to this conflict. It is a very large "bang".

 

The only questions are,  who drops it first, and where?

I would love to see the windbag Don sit down with Lazrov and use his exceptional negotiating and diplomatic skills to bring about a solution to this war, and stop the Russian maiming and killing of women and children. 

 

Now, that would be worth paying to watch. Somehow, I doubt the madman Putin would be convinced.

How kind of him!  Does he not realise that negotiations have been going on since the very start of this war, but the Russians refuse to back down and claim that they are not the aggressors. Tell that to the thousands of Ukrainian citizens who have lost their lives.
