Chonburi — A 46-year-old minivan driver was killed while five others were injured in a 4-vehicle crash on a motorway in Chonburi.

The collision took place today, November 10th, just after noon on a motorway inbound to Pattaya in the Nong Khang Khok subdistrict of Chonburi’s Mueang district. Chonburi rescuers arrived at the scene to find four vehicles, including a white truck, a white Toyota Vios sedan, a black BMW sedan, and a bronze public minivan, all with broken bumpers.

The minivan registered in Bangkok was flipped on its side. The driver, 46-year-old Mr. Samart Saekow, was pronounced dead from his injuries by rescuers. Five unidentified people were hurt and transported to Chonburi Hospital.

RIP, driving too fast, too close together, very few genuine accidents, just make a trip along this road and see the crazy driving by some.

Where are the top doctors demanding western style road safety changes?

Oh yeah, too busy panicking about a handful of kids who might ingest weed once accidentally, or it's horrific effects on national security or some such utter garbage.

Deaths from Cannabis worldwide? Zero.

Deaths from traffic in Thailand this morning? Double digits.

Media outrage by Thailand's top doctors?

Zero.

Where's that "worlds gone mad" gang on here when you need em?

If the road deaths are/will be effected by weed as much as alcohol then your own question has been answered by them doing this

The accident was probably caused by the driver(s) stoned on weed.

Well, his post was articulate, not ad hominem, did not seem to favor dope over road safety, looks like proposing points of comparison to determine soundness of actions...

Facts are facts, if it offends some people, oh well....

Nevertheless it was off topic... it's like the idiots who bring US politics or Trump into each thread. There are plenty of topics specifically about this  dope stuff where such commentary can be posted and probably better received. It is a slight to the persons injured and one that was killed mentioned in the OP.

Well, you are quite right.

I would normally be the first to call out a sophism in a debate.

In this instance, the sophism could be that: "It is not because doctors get worried that smoking weeds might be an issue in a society, that doctors would consequently not be worried about road safety."

Sometimes off topic comments could be useful, but you are right in questioning its usefulness in this instance.

Just that I remember my youthful time back then. Made us drive slower hehe.

And perhaps every chance one gets to declare the dangers on these roads might eventually save some lives here...

The most I ever saw was SEVEN cars telescoped together on motorway 7 coming into Pattaya.  How to practice your emergency stop using the vehicle in front for extra braking power.

Every year they say they will do something... but don't say which year.
