The Narcotics Suppression Bureau (NSB) moved last Thursday to seize the entire business of a luxury hotel in Samut Prakan run by a company in which Mr Chaiyanat Kornchayanant or Du Hao, the alleged Chinese drug kingpin, is a shareholder. At the scene were officials from the state security agency and police led by General Surachate Hakparn who revealed that more prosecutions are to come in what is still an expanding case.

Whistleblower Chuwit Kamolvisit warned this week that gang-related Chinese nationals were approaching expectant Thai fathers at private hospitals and prenatal care centres to give their names to children expected to be born to pregnant Chinese women to obtain Thai citizenship for newborn babies which can subsequently be used for asset purchases and the establishment of Thai companies to funnel illegal Chinese capital into Thailand. These revelations came before General Surachate Hakparn working with the Du Hao task force, on Thursday, together with officials of the Narcotics Suppression Bureau (NSB) seized a huge hotel in Samut Prakan with land assets alone valued at ฿2.97 billion. 

 

Last Wednesday, Thailand’s Attorney-General Naree Tantasathien signed an order citing the organisation of Du Hao or Mr Chaiyanat Kornchayan as a transnational criminal organisation and also classified Mr Chaiyanat himself as a threat to national security.

Seems amazing that only Chuwit knows all this stuff....seems amazing, because all the top in government and RTP already knew....Chuwit is so obviously just being the brave "whistleblower"....the spokesperson if you will!

This is a shift from their usual tactics to kill a homeless or a person who's very little know and assume their identities

Wow, sick and disgusting Chinese gang behavior.

Not the only country I am sure. Chinese gangs are in every country. 

These gangs are certainly quite creative in their money laundering schemes. Certainly more original than buying a gogo bar in Pattaya.

 

I hope Chuwit has some good protection.

Totally agree.  Is Chuwit an undercover police tout?  Unlikely as he's waived the reward money that RTP use to get others to do their work.

Immigration was so worried about the farangs in thailand that it seems they somehow overlooked an invasion by the Chinese mafia.

You ain't seen nothing yet.  Thailand attracts these people like a magnet. As China implodes Thailand is going to have it's hands full.

Purposely ignored.....for a fee, not overlooked. Chuwit must have decided to get all precious about it in his dotage.

What good will that do?  Plenty of legitimate Thai Chinese here.  My wife's family is one of them.

Chuwit is the only one who dares to talk in public about it, but of course many others know about this...

I truly hope he's got a good (life-)insurance!

An excellent observation. The question is, why is he being the brave whistleblower, civic duty, excessive competition, he was told to be the front man for this, payback, it was personal?

Your wife (and other legitimate Thais) would have familiar DNA matches with relatives. A mainlander who stole identity will not have that. Certainly there are cases of adoptions and ... "milkman visits turned (re)productive", but it would weed out ability to steal identity. Also it would make it scientifically interesting exercise.
