Minister of health Mr Anutin yesterday reiterated that any new Covid measures will not discriminate against travellers from any country, including China.


Authorities are expected to finalise measures today that would apply to visitors arriving from China and other countries.

 

The director of ‘Protected Areas’ met with the anti corruption commission to put his case against the director-general of National Parks,  Mr Rutchada was arrested in Bangkok last week on charges of demanding or taking bribes from subordinates. Envelopes filled with cash totalling 5 million baht were found in his office.

 

Residents and groups in PHUKET are pushing to have the Interior Permanent Secretary investigated for corruption and remove him from his post, 


They accuse him of failing to manage the island’s environment,  


After he suggested Phuket withdraw from hosting an environmental Expo in 2028.


The groups have sent a letter to the prime minister to say the island should hold the event. 

 

The director of the  department of railways says the first phase of the high speed train line between Bangkok and Nakhon Ratchasima will be completed on schedule in 2026, he added mistakes and lessons learned during the first phase will help the progress of stage two.The line will eventually run the length of the country with  Trains traveling at at 250 klms per hour.

 

Government is due to proceed with development of petroleum resources in an area of the Gulf of Thailand claimed by Thailand and Cambodia.


The project would be a joint development between both countries to source natural gas.

Vietnam: A 10-year-old boy who fell into a narrow open shaft of a concrete pile at a construction site on New Year's Eve has been confirmed dead.


Rescuers spent nearly 100 hours trying to free the youngster from the 35m long support pillar which is just 25 centimeters in diameter,


Attempts are being made to retrieve the boys body.


Hong Kong's government said Japan has relaxed six-day-old COVID-19 measures  that had restricted flights from Hong Kong to a handful of destinations.
