Thailand’s national police chief has ordered an investigation into the withdrawal of an arrest warrant for a wealthy businessman from Myanmar suspected of dealing in drugs and money laundering.


Tun Min Latt was detained in September last year and an arrest warrant issued but revoked on the same day. The officers who had applied for the arrest warrant were later transferred. A committee has been set up to look into why the warrant was withdrawn. 

 

Police have arrested Five suspects for alleged involvement in the murder of four men. Three bodies were found in the trunk of a car, partially submerged in a canal in Narathiwat in February, the fourth body is believed to have been disposed of in a nearby river. The killings are believed to have   been over a dispute in connection with drugs


Police displayed  guns, ammunition and two cars used by the gang, and are looking for two more people. 

 

Four new aviation companies will apply for licenses to operate airlines. 


The new airservices will offer both domestic and long haul flights and likely start next year, they will compete with existing airlines Air asia, Thai smile, Viet jet and others.

 

Health authorities have asked private companies and advised people in areas affected by air pollution to wear face masks and to work from home where possible. 


Bangkok, Chiang Mai and much of central and northern Thailand have experienced dangerously high levels of pm2.5 pollution.


Doctors have treated an estimated 1.4 million people suffering from the effects of air pollution since the beginning of the year.

 

France has donated just over 1 million Moderna covid 19 vaccines to Thailand. 


The donation was presented by the French ambassador  to Thailand's minister of health.

Over 3,000 Filipino and US soldiers will participate in military exercises for the next 3 weeks. The focus will be on enhancing the Southeast Asian nation’s ability to protect and defend its territory from external threats. The exercises are reported to have infuriated China.


China will ease covid restrictions on foreign visitors from tomorrow, The move marks the latest step towards reopening China to the outside world.

Fine weather to continue over the weekend with some cloud and winds in the north on Sunday and into next week.

 

The Thai met office says winds will sweep across the north  And should help reduce the amount of smog from fires.
