The Chinese balloon that flew over the US earlier this year managed to gather intelligence from military bases for days before it was shot down, US media report.

The balloon was able to transmit data to Beijing in real time, NBC News reported, citing US officials.

The craft picked up electronic signals rather than taking pictures, according to one official quoted by the network.

I think it's always funny when something like that is news.

Do Americans spy on China? Is that data sent the USA in real time? 100% sure.

And who is releasing this information? The USA. Would they release any secret information from such a balloon? No.

So what's the point? Look at those bad Chinese, they spy on us. 555

I still haven't figured out how the balloons were steered over military targets. No engines means they were at the mercy of winds.

Actually some of the reports said that one of the balloons had a propellor steering system, this would explain the large solar panels.

A completely invisible propeller system. Not one photo has shown propellers.

China spy balloon gathered information from multiple military sites despite attempts to block it: report

The Chinese balloon that flew across the United States earlier this year was able to gather intelligence from several U.S. military sites and transmit it back to Beijing in real time, despite the Biden administration's attempts to block it, according to a report from NBC News.

The high-altitude balloon was able to make multiple trips over some of the sites before it was shot down on Feb. 4, at times flying in a figure-eight formation, NBC said, citing two current senior U.S. officials and one former senior administration official.

The FBI continues to assess parts of the Chinese spy balloon recovered after it was shot down in February, Sabrina Singh, a Pentagon spokesperson, said Monday.

Must have had one of the 羽人, Birdman (Chinese myth)????

My only question is why did Biden let this happen?

I love how all the regular ones on here who had sooo much to say about this when it happened regarding how harmless it was have all been silent. Even CNN has reported ( some ) of this story.

Well, if it was a weather balloon, they really aren't very nice to not let us know about all the storms headed our way.

Right.  Biden could have saved China and the US a lot of trouble by revealing classified the way Trump did.

...so the President  was... lying to us when he said the balloon was harmless?!? Say it ain't so, Joe!
