Crime Senator Accused of Robbing Corpse Faces Investigation
Picture courtesy of Amarin A senator charged with robbing the corpse of a car crash victim in 2021 is now facing a potential ethics probe by the Senate, it was reported on 11 August. Bang Pakong police in Chachoengsao province have filed charges with the Attorney General and the Criminal Court against the unnamed senator, who allegedly stole valuables from the body of a man killed when his car overturned on the Bang Na Expressway, about a kilometre from Bang Wua subdistrict, at 23:50 on 31 May 2021. The incident was caught on CCTV. Rescuers arriving at the scene found good bystanders already assisting the injured. The deceased’s family later reported seven missing items worth around 2 million baht, including two mobile phones, a pair of designer glasses, a Louis Vuitton bag, an eight-baht-weight gold necklace, a gold-framed amulet and 120,000 baht in cash. Police reviewing the CCTV footage saw a truck stop near the crash site, with two men exiting to help. One of them was identified as the senator. He later admitted to stealing from the victim, returning only the Louis Vuitton bag and one mobile phone. The senator has a history of legal troubles. In 2011, he was fined for operating an illegal lottery in Chonburi. In 2016, he was prosecuted for owning a fishing vessel without a legally required tracking system. Earlier this year, a woman accused him of sexual harassment. Despite these allegations, the Election Commission has stated that the senator may continue performing his duties because the corpse robbery case is still ongoing and his previous convictions do not disqualify him from holding office. The Senate’s ethics committee is now expected to consider whether his actions breach the upper chamber’s code of conduct. Adapted by Asean Now from Amarin 2025-08-12 -

Big C now cheaper than expat shops
Malt and Cod Liver Oil, a huge jar of it in the kitchen and a tablespoonful before bed! Consistency somewhat treacle like. Didn't taste too bad, but of course my brat sister made a fuss. Some attempt by parents to ensure kids got all the vitamins and such as they grew up as they recalled deprived times. -
