Canadian boxer accuses Thai restaurant of poisoning him

A Canadian boxer accused a Thai restaurant of poisoning him because of a previous insult to Muay Thai.

The boxer, Dave Leduc, took to Facebook on Sunday, May 28, to share selfies with captions written in Burmese and Cambodian languages.

Apologising for not responding to all the messages, Leduc stated that he had been in the hospital for two days. Expressing suspicion, he believed that the Thai restaurant might have poisoned him. While the doctor assured him of a full recovery, Leduc expressed concerns about his safety, claiming that certain Thai individuals who followed him desired his demise.

Prior to the incident, Leduc had posted a photograph of himself in front of a Thai restaurant in Cambodia, accompanied by a caption stating that he had been invited to dine there, unaware of his ban from Thailand. Despite his ban, Leduc hoped that he wouldn’t be poisoned, concluding the post with a heartfelt message to his supporters in the event of his demise.

On Panthip, Facebook there are some quite heated arguments Muay Tai versus Cambodian Kun Khmer origins etc. Both sides have legitimate points.

“As a consequence of his insulting remarks against Muay Thai, Leduc was prohibited from entering Thailand and is currently residing in Cambodia.”

Soft skinned folk, these Thais.

It says in the article he was prohibited from entering Thailand because he insulted Muay Thai.

If you have evidence to the contrary, post it here. If not, best keep your unfounded speculations to yourself, no?

He was hospitalized because, as he alleges, he was poisoned by a Thai restaurant in Cambodia.

Hardly just a bout of the squirts, and it may have been deliberate.

I've seen this Leduc fella before in news articles. He's a lethwei (Burmese style) boxer and an absolute nutcase.

So this delicate flower ate some non-Canadian food and nearly died. Poor thing.

Then he whinges about a Thai conspiracy to poison and kill him.

Quite pathetic.

You don't honestly believe for a single second there is a Thai conspiracy to poison everyone who "insults" Muang Thai/som dam/spicy food/etc. etc. etc

The guy probably ate something that didn't agree with him/gave him food poisoning and he put 2 and 2 together and came up with 47.

The whole story is complete and utter nonsense.

Too many blows to the head?

Canada's finest.

Can't understand foreigners obsession with Muay Thai, the only old Thais I have met who were good at it were both brain damaged.
