In a recent case, Mr. Alam, a 54-year-old Bangladeshi migrant and owner of a suit tailoring shop in downtown Pattaya, filed a complaint with Pattaya city journalists.

This came after his 23-year-old nephew, Mr. Mohamad, a Bangladeshi migrant, was deceived and taken to work in Mae Sot district, Tak province. Since June 4, Mohamad had been missing and there was a lack of communication, as previously reported.

According to the news reporter, on June 6, they received word from relatives that Mohamad had been rescued and returned home to Pattaya, reported Siam Rath.

The reporter then interviewed Mohamad, who was still in a state of shock and fear about the incident. He revealed that prior to the incident, he had searched for job opportunities on Facebook and came across a profile named "Silvia Putri" advertising vacancies for various positions at a robotics manufacturing company located in Mae Sot.

After submitting his job application documents through the Facebook account of "Silvia Putri," who claimed to be the manager, Mohamad was scheduled for his first day of work at the company. On the appointed day, he took a flight to Mae Sot International Airport and was supposed to be picked up by company representatives.

However, strange events began to unfold when he received a message stating that the car meant to pick him up had suddenly malfunctioned. Instead, he was instructed to wait at a well-known hotel in Mae Sot district, where a reservation had been made in advance.

Around 9:30 PM, three suspicious men in a black Nissan pickup truck with the license plate "Bor 6183 Tak" approached Mohamad, claiming they were there to take him to the company. However, during the journey, the driver abruptly turned off the main road and entered a forested area.

One of the men sitting next to Mohamad wore a black hood that covered his face, obstructing visibility. After approximately 45 minutes, they arrived at a rectangular room and seized all of Mohamad's belongings.

Food was brought in for him to eat, but he feared it might be drugged or tampered with. He spent the entire night crying in fear. In the afternoon, someone knocked on the room door and called him out for a conversation.

To his relief, he found himself surrounded by numerous Thai individuals sitting in front of computers. Eventually, the group determined that he did not possess the desired qualifications and decided to send him back to the well-known shopping center in Mae Sot district.

From there, he sought help from relatives to coordinate with the police, who safely escorted him on a flight back to his hometown in Pattaya.

Following the incident, an investigation into the Facebook account used for the job application revealed that it had been closed. It is believed that this group may be involved in illegal activities near the border area of Mae Sot district and deceived people, including Bangladeshis, by falsely offering employment.

This serves as a warning to others who are searching for jobs online to thoroughly check and consider before placing their trust, as they may fall victim to such scams.
