BANGKOK, June 29 (TNA) — The Senate’s Political Development and Public Participation Committee on Wednesday submitted the evidence related to the allegations that Move Forward Party leader and Prime Minister candidate Pita Limjaroenrat holds shares in iTV, a media company to the Election Commission.

Senator Seri Suwanpanon, the committee chairman and senator Kittisak Rattanawaraha, the deputy chairman, meet Election Commission chairman Ittiporn Boonpracong on Wednesday to hand over the evidencerelated to the allegations that Mr. Pita holds shares in iTV while applying for office, which is in violation of the Constitution.

 

Mr Seri said he asked the Election Commission to use its authority and discretion to complete the ruling as fast as possible in order to solve the political arguments. He wanted the issue to be quickly concluded.

If it is coming from any army appointed Senator, it should immediately be discredited. They are the ones who belong behind bars. They are totally illigitimate. Lock them up. 

I cannot imagine what information he has that has not already been submitted.

These senators find it extremely difficult to explain what disadvantages other parties have suffered from what is, an on paper only itv media company that has ceased broadcasting since 2007 and has been delisted from the stock exchange since 2014.

 

For a rationally thinking observer, the whole fuss is just ridiculous. They try desperately to inflate a mosquito into an elephant.

the whole senate should be disbanned as soon as the new Government is in charge... and as an extra all these senators should be investigated in all kind businesses the take part in and possible corruption deals. and if found guilty, ripped them and jail them for a long time

I think that they think this is what's going to happen if Pita gets the PM spot.  So, disrupt, disrupt.

ITV appears to be just a defunct shell company, and has been for 15+ years.  It's not a media company. Its station has been closed since early 2008 and frequency reassigned to Thai PBS.

IMO, Having sitting Senators presenting evidence to the EC is a disgraceful conflict of interest. And this could be fashioned as being illegal under a number of Thai laws (116 for example).
