Roof 20mm foam insulation roll. Work?

Featured Replies

Do these actually work?

In terms of keeping the rooms cooler in the daytime?

Keeping the bedrooms cold in the nighttime after an hour of AC with only fans for the rest of the night?

Or is the difference minimal and not really noticeable?

Are they easy to lay? The ceiling is plasterboard, with electrical wires and the tops of light fittings etc on the roof side. Pin the foam roll to the bottom roof strut so it runs a few inches above the ceiling as to not hinder the light fittings and electrical wires?

Or they're just pretty much useless?

TIA

My way of thinking it may keep the heat out, but also keeps the heat in at night

If you are going to lay it on the ceiling, make sure you don't have those downlights that go up though the ceiling.

IMO I think it will work.

Another insulation product so have you looked at reviews.

On my bedroom ceiling I rolled 100 mm fibreglass wrapped in a strong foil, it made a big difference not only for keeping the room cool but silencing noise from outside too.

In my opinion you should use the Fiberglass insulation.

The 6" Stay cool stuff from SCG is 509thb/pack (0.6x4m) and will outperform this foam insulation by a lot for an even smaller price.

If you want to go cheaper, at Homepro they have another brand (forgot the name but its in blue packaging) which is almost half the price with a little reduced Rt-value.
