The House meeting to debate the falling prices of agricultural products on Thursday was brought to a premature end as a result of, what government legislators described as, a “political game” by Move Forward, the main opposition party.

It was the first meeting of Thailand’s current House of Representatives and it had to be adjourned due to a lack of a quorum, which sparked a fierce war of words between legislators on both sides of the aisle.

The House meeting was in the process of debating a motion addressing the plights of the agricultural sector, but Move Forward wanted the proposal for a referendum on constitutional amendment to be taken up instead.

Of course they're not there, they are all lined up at the trough.......money talks, working for the people will always come second, or not at all.

Rules of Procedures of the House of Representatives required a qourum of not less than one-half of the existing members to convene the proceedings. So it seem that the representatives walk out before MFP asked for a quorum check or they left early after clocking in.

Just a few dys into the new government / parliament session and 'no quorum'.

The rot continues..

This lunacy started with the selection of an incompetent Speaker, who appears to lack a basic understanding of Parliamentary procedures. And it's gone downhill from there. He's lost control, not that he ever had it. He must resign ASAP.

Simply amazing that the ruling coalition has any excuse for this, other than ignorance, and disrespect for the institution and the people.

Criticizing MFP for wanting to adhere to the rules is just Classic Thai. Shut up, and do your job.

What a bunch of fools, I'm surprised they even found their way to right building.

they should expect more of the same same... better explained by the old saying  "you reap what you sow"

Move Forward asked for a quorum check, which found that most government MPs were absent, forcing House Speaker Wan Mohamad Noor Matha to order the meeting adjourned.

That's what's going to happen from now on..., until the government loopholes the quorum thing.

MFP sticking to their guns, unlike the house wishing for those ideas to go away.

It's great to see Move Forward sticking to its guns. Keep it up boys, if you want Thailand to become a true democracy.
