Ambulance with Critical Patient onboard blocked by Reckless Sedan Driver (video)

A disturbing incident surfaced on the "Want to be Famous? We'll Make It Happen" Facebook page, highlighting an incident from an ambulance's dashcam footage recorded on Sunday afternoon (3 September).

The clip showed a black sedan refusing to give way to the ambulance, despite the latter transporting a patient in dire need of medical attention. The sedan obstinately remained in front of the ambulance for more than 30 seconds, reported Sanook.

Voices from the ambulance's loudspeaker could be heard in the footage, pleading with the sedan driver to make way. "Excuse me, won't you move to the left for us?" a medical staff exclaimed, followed by, "We have a patient onboard."

To add to the alarming behavior, there was a moment when the black sedan abruptly applied the brakes, even when there was significant space ahead, further impeding the ambulance's progress.

To be honest, it is my experience to witness on several occasions an ambulance with wailing sirens and with no where to go owning to a congested roads, otherwise, an impeding stubborn driver should be find and dearly.

Until the police make an example & heavily fine someone like this nothing will change

It would be ironic if the patient was the driver's mother.

An idiot like that would probably not care.

In all fairness he probably didn't realise there was an ambulance behind as he was playing with his phone.

Thailand DESPERATELY needs at least one or two of these cases prosecuted as "attempted manslaughter" or the equivalent, because that is what it actually is!

The news following these one or two cases would solve this problem overnight, IMO!

Witnesses many years ago on the junction North Pattaya road and Sukhumvit.

'someone" very important was leaving the Dusit resort, and traffic was stopped on North Pattaya road and Sukhumvit

At the same time an ambulance from BHP coming on Sukhumvit towards the hospital with blaring sirens.

When the ambulance reached the traffic lights, a policeman jumped in front and hit with his stick on the windscreen to make him stop.

My Thai language teacher explained it as ego and power trip, and being righteous by add to their Karma, as the patient's situation is due to them committing bad deeds in their past lives.

Nutters.

Why do they block out the moron's number plate. Let everyone know who he is.

And then remove the plates and his licence, and crush the car with him in it, to within an inch (or centimetre) of his life. Put him in an ambulance, and see what happens.

That'll teach him!   555

His excuse in the video, he was playing music too loud to hear it.  Plus, he thought something was broken on his car.

There was talk of increasing the fine from 500 baht to 10-20k.  If the patient dies due to interfering with the ambulance, a murder charge could be levied.

Got the number plate... Book-him Danno

In a land where the notion of 'responsibility' does not exist, this behavior should surprise no one...

And of course he will have some reason to decline responsibility, they all are masters at it....

Why are they so concerned with saving face?

Umm... sweetheart...you live in Thailand, a mostly irrelevant country, you have no money, and you drive a Honda civic. You're as low as it gets on the totem pole. What face is there to save, and to whom? You are not important in Thailand and less than not important to the rest of the world. There is no 'face' to save, it's just nutty hallucinations and dumb culture.

"MUST SAVE FRACE, NO HAB BIGGER CAR TELL ME WHAT TO DO!"

???? good job Somchai-ette (guessing it was probably a woman driving, didn't bother watching entire video)
