Does anyone know the background on just what the laws were back in the 1930s and on relating to foreigners who came to Thailand, married Thai women, had children, and then died?

1. What is the status of these people? Normally, if they did not apply for Thai nationality, could they become Thai just by living here?

2. What is the status of the children of these people? Now the children are in their 60s-70s, and may have children and grandchildren born here in Thailand. So are the children really Thai nationality, especially if the original parents had not formally registered their marriage?
