The online world is buzzing with concern after a car care shop owner from Nonthaburi province shared a harrowing tale of assisting a "mother and child" who drove their sedan off the road near 'Saphan Pathom Nonthi' simply because they blindly followed their GPS, especially during late-night hours.

This incident rings alarm bells about the potential dangers and calls on the authorities to take action to prevent similar accidents, reported Daily News.

In the case, Facebook user "Thannanit Kiratiranawat" posted a picture of a red sedan that had plunged off the road near the bridge, along with a message stating, "The rescuers here are the best! They arrived quickly. Whoever is responsible for the area around Saphan Pathom Nonthi, please fix it.

They missed it by a bit, and they could've ended up in the canal. The driver injured her arm, which was swollen, and the child had chest pain. They were following the GPS and didn't notice. The incident occurred around midnight." This post sparked widespread criticism, particularly regarding road user safety.

Regarding this incident, on October 16, Thannanit Kiratiranawat, a 25-year-old car care shop owner located in front of Wat Sai Yai, Sai Noi District, Nonthaburi, shared that the incident took place late at night on October 15. She was on her way home to Sai Noi when she noticed a man, a woman, and a child stranded by the side of the road.

Upon closer examination, she discovered that a red sedan had ended up in a canal. The female driver had suffered a serious arm injury and had bleeding from her mouth, while the child was complaining of chest pain. When questioned, the driver explained that the road had no streetlights, and she was relying on her GPS. There were no barriers on the roadside, and she was unfamiliar with the route.

Thannanit also mentioned that the victims had come to visit friends and were now heading back home near Rama 7 in the complete darkness. As they reached the accident site, their car veered off into a pit. Initially, the female driver experienced severe arm injuries with bleeding from her mouth, and the child briefly lost consciousness, only to wake up with chest pain.

They quickly called for emergency assistance before both mother and child were taken to the Thainoi Hospital. Thannanit wanted to remind all road users to be more careful and not rely too heavily on GPS, especially in poorly lit areas.

She also urged relevant authorities to consider installing barriers at such locations to prevent similar accidents, as failing to address this issue could lead to even more serious accidents and losses.

Check the driver's phone for any texting or other distracting usage.

No further mention of the man.

Maybe she should have relied on her car headlights instead, and looked where she was going instead of at a screen. Just saying. And that anyone is allowed to have kids, and knock them unconscious by irresponsible driving, no matter how stupid they are.

When are these idiots going to realize that GPS does not drive the car for you!

So no headlights or common sense then?

She also needs to check the child restraint in use. Was it a child seat correctly installed or was the child sitting on her lap and jammed against the steering wheel?

Always update google map. 🤔

Thai driver: No idea about road traffic laws and unable to use GPS:post-4641-1156694572:

Surely the child needs taking into care and protection from these idiots.

No mention of how dark her window tint is. Women drivers :giggle::sorry:
