On November 6th, park officials captured footage of this solitary bear foraging for food near the staff quarters at the scenic Khao Phanoen Thung lookout, reported Daily News. According to Somjet Chanthana, director of Conservation Area Administration Office 3, Phetchaburi branch, this friendly creature, weighing between 40-50 kilograms and fully mature, has become a regular sight around the campsite, staff houses, and viewing point. While their vision isn't their strong suit, their olfactory capabilities are remarkably keen. These nocturnal and diurnal creatures are adept climbers and often sleep high up in the trees. They communicate with dog-like barks and will stand on two legs to investigate scents.
