FOR THE first time ever a digital Loy Krathong event took place at Bangkok’s Ong Ang canal last night (Nov. 27) in an effort to preserve waterways and solve the problem of residual garbage and in doing so save our planet by reducing global warming, Thai Rath and TV Channel 7 said.

Thai Rath Online’s team of photographers captured the enthralling atmosphere at this canal where Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) focused on the issue of sustainability while continuing Thai traditions by inviting people to float digital krathongs.

The city administration had prepared paper for people to draw and colour their own krathongs, then writing their name and the blessings they were asking for.
