I have been reading this forum since it was created, nice place, just became a member.

Does anybody know of a guesthouse or hotel, on or close to Sukhumvit 50 (On Nut BTS), that rents rooms by the day?

Another thing, where can i buy a "real" motorbike helmet? Those Lotus helmets (Arai-brand, ~600 - 1000B) are too small for my big head, my chin sticks out at the bottom...

No Baht 1000 Arai helmets here but if you want a DOT/Snell approved you can find it at one of these two shops. Good luck.

On Thong Lo, Suk55, there is a place opposite soi 8 called Big John's that does air-con rooms for about THB350 per night. English style grub as well, pies, pasties, chips etc.

Tell him the 'pom who gave his girls a cold' sent you. May get you a slap.

On thong lo, you can also find:

-SAWASDEE hotel - 620 baht per night, sawasdee but not as nice as new buildings in Pattaya, old rooms in my opinion.

-BURI guesthouse - 400 baht, very nice and clean (wooden style), but no shower in room.

Both around 50 meters on the right when you get in sukhumvit 55 thong lo.

Depends on how decrepit you are, I suppose.

There's a hotel on On Nut Soi 12 about 50 mtrs off the main road (the soi exits onto Sukhumvit as Soi 81 - just across from Lotus off Soi 50). I've stayed there in the past (it may be called Lee? - but not really sure about that).

Nothing special really, I think we payed 400/night last year...
