So, a district held by a Democrat for the past 10 years up to the Santos debacle went back to the Democrats.  This is news? I liked the GOP candidate but she had no chance.

Under normal circumstances, yes. But the stench of Santos lingered. And the previous incumbent ran again for the Democrats.   We will see what happens in November. Plus the district underwent substantial change in 2012 due to redistricting and that threw it more to the Democratic side.  Since then it had been won exclusively by the Democrats.

Nice spin, but polling had this race within the margin of error. The Dem won by 7. That is news, whether you like it or not.

But you said that the district was held by democrats for 10 years And the GOP candidate had no chance, Now you are saying that it was not the GOP candidates fault but Santos fault?  Don't you think you are laying it on a bit too thick? 

Personally I don't think it was the Santos stink  but  donald's.

You conveniently avoid the big picture. Immigration, inflation, Israel and abortion were the election issues and were hammered hard by Pilip and the REpublicans against Suozzi and it fell flat and didn't wash with the voters. It's a bellweather of what may happen in November. Voters are getting better informed and those lies and misrepresentation of facts of these issues by Maga are facing tough scrutiny and starting to burnout.

What neither have you seem to recognize that it wasn't so much the fact that Suozzi won as that he beat the polling by a substantial margin. The polls had him ahead by anywhere from 1 to 4 points.

This has been a consistent feature not only of the midterms, but of subsequent Congressional elections since.
