The Government of Thailand has launched an initiative to nominate Nan, a culturally rich northern province, for UNESCO World Heritage status, aiming to boost the region's tourism and economy. Nan's picturesque landscapes, archaeological treasures, and diverse ethnic heritage are anticipated to captivate global tourists and scholars alike

Any excuse to get the status.

The proposal focuses on leveraging Nan’s archaeological history, a unique blend of ethnic cultures, and local wisdom

local wisdom? I'd love to hear an example

The beauty of Nan owes much to it being challenging to get to, so this limits the number of tourists.

The urge to whore out the entire country should probably be resisted.
