Tragedy Strikes as One Student Drowns While Playing in Buriram

In a tragic incident in Buriram on October 2, three female students went to play at the Huay Takian overflow area in Ban Yang, Lam Plai Mat District. While there, one of the girls, identified as 14-year-old Duangkamol, slipped and fell into the water. Despite the efforts of her friends to help, she was swept away by the strong current.

Rescue teams, including divers, had been searching for the missing girl since the incident was reported at around 15:00. However, as darkness fell, her body has not yet been found., with rescuers now having little hope she will be found alive.

The girl's mother expressed her concerns about the dangers of playing in the water during the flood season, saying she had warned her daughter about the risks. Friends who were with her recounted the frightening moments as they played, stating that they had come to take photos and enjoy the water. 

Local authorities are continuing the search and urging caution among young people during this dangerous season.
