A violent confrontation between a 39 year old father and his 16 year old son in Sisaket, escalated into arson when the father set their home on fire using a gas cylinder. The son bravely tried to intervene, resulting in him being bitten on the thigh by his enraged father. Neighbours, fearing the fire would spread, alerted the authorities.

Police officer Ratchapark Pichit from Phosi Siwan Police Station received the emergency call at on 02.20 on October 12, about a fire in Saeng Village, Moo 1, Ise Subdistrict. Firefighters were immediately dispatched to the scene.

When the fire service arrived, they found local residents attempting to control the flames with small fire extinguishers and water. The fire service worked for approximately one hour to bring the blaze under control.

Preliminary reports indicate that the fire was started by a 39 year old man named Pradit, who lives with his two sons, aged 16 and 14, while his wife is away working in another province. The fire began after an argument between Pradit and his 16 year old son, which spiraled out of control, leading to the father’s attempt to burn down the house.

Fortunately, the fire was contained, and no further injuries were reported. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.

Maturity level of a big part of the male population in T tops out at about 14 anyway, so I guess the argument was between equals.
