A young boy’s seventh birthday ended in tragedy in Den Chai, Phrae Province, when he drowned in a pond behind his family’s home. Family members had prepared a birthday cake for him, but the celebration turned into a heartbreaking event when he met with an unexpected accident.

 

Around 18:20 on October 26, the Den Chai Rescue Association received a request from Sai Yoi Rescue for a diving team to assist in the search for the missing child. The boy, a first-grade student from Sankhaburi District, Chainat Province, had returned to visit relatives during school break. His shoes were found left by the edge of the pond, marking the last place he was seen.

 

Rescue teams located his lifeless body submerged in the water and returned him to his grieving family for final rites.

 

The heart-wrenching detail is that October 26 was the boy’s birthday, and his family had prepared a small celebration. Plans were set for him to return to Chainat after the gathering, but he tragically lost his life before he could blow out the candles. His family later placed the birthday cake, with its unlit candles, by the pond where he had drowned as a final tribute.

Sad but probably true.

Drowning is the most common cause death for young Thai children.

What can one say..... 

if you cannot swim, why get into a lake?  sometimes I think some evil people might have pushed him or others, just for the fun to see them drown?

 

you think that is possible ?

The parents or people responsible for watching over this child should be held accountable and prosecuted for failing to monitor the childs activity. I would never leave my young children alone near a body of water or in water without a clear line of sight to them always. Tragic this boys life ended so soon simply because no-one cared enough to keep an eye on him while outside.

Happens, can't understand these situations too, at least there would be screaming one would think.

Yes indeed, and whatever the circumstances, a very sad and tragic incident. 

RIP young lad and enjoy your birthday in heaven.

That's why I brought my two sons to swimming course before they were 4 years old: NOT to be able to cross the Chao Praya, but.. to survive when they fell in a ditch or pond.
